- Backspacing your Welcome Screens
- --------------------------------
-
-
- Ever seen a "Welcome" screen backspace? This is how you do it!
- ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
-
- 1st: Install the enclosed "WELCOME" screen into your RR-HOST (or other)
- BBS program.
- 2nd: Sign-on LOCAL and watch it run.
- 2nd: Go into a text-editor such as "Edit" (or the likes) and you will see
- the text file along with many garbled characters that resemble rectangles.
- These are characters that the Monaco font cannot display.
- 3rd: Drag the mouse over ONE of these characters, and COPY it.
- 4th: Close the document, open a new one, and whenever you need a backspace
- hit PASTE (ctrl-V).
-
- Hints:
- -----
-
- "@" will represent the Control Character.
-
- If you want to type a line that will backspace over itself, paste as many
- backspace characters as the number of characters you have:
- EX: //////////@@@@@@@@@@----------@@@@@@@@@@||||||||||@...
-
- If you want the text line to be slowed down by characters do this:
- Take the word (MACBBS for example) and put a couple +@ in between:
- +@+@M+@+@A+@+@C+@+@B+@+@B+@+@S+@+@
-
- This effect can be seen on the logon message. If you have any new
- suggestions, or methods of Backspacing special effects, by all means post
- them. If you have a neat looking text file with backspacing, upload it here
- to the BBS-RT!
-
-
- Thanks to "SHATTER" for the help!
-
- Later...
